Resilience is a strategy that can be learned. In this session, we will explore the factors that contribute to resilience and provide practical coping strategies for everyday life and more traumatic experiences.

Language and Stigma Surrounding Mental Health

Language matters.  The words students choose and the meanings attached to them have a powerful effect on how we view mental health and the people who live with mental health conditions.   In this interactive session, students will learn about the language that can alienate people, sensationalize mental illness, and create barriers to treatment.  They will leave the workshop having learned  about preferred language and tools to intervene when confronted with stigma around mental health.
