Introducing SPACE:  Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions

Come learn about SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a cutting-edge program created by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center, exclusively for parents/caregivers. SPACE is a framework for fostering a supportive environment for children with obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders.  The treatment entails parents/caregivers being coached by a therapist to best support their children and to influence a more positive environment in the home.  

Presenter: Moriah Bracken, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and founder of Bracken Therapies. She has nearly 10 years of experience as a school social worker in various settings, including elementary, life skills, and middle school. She recently opened her own practice where she works with children, adolescents, and parents.

Virtual Program | Movement to Soothe the Soul

Movement to Soothe the Soul

Join No Shame On U and Beth Lofchie Jacobson, Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Group Fitness Instructor, for a fitness session aimed at soothing your mind and raising your spirits. There is a strong association between physical activity and mental health. In fact, regular exercise is connected to improved mental and emotional health, including stress and anxiety relief and mood enhancement. Exercise is also a natural energy boost that promotes cardiovascular health.

Beth is going to guide attendees through a 30-minute Functional Fitness (FunFit) full-body strength and balance experience aimed at bolstering mental wellbeing. Class includes a warm-up, cardio exercise, bodyweight resistance training, and stretches to cool down. No equipment required.

Listen to your body and move your way, as together we experience the joy of movement and improved mental health.

This class is appropriate for everyone: seasoned exercisers and those who want to get physical but do not know where to start.

This class is FREE and VIRTUAL.

Individuals “sandwiched” between the responsibility of aging parents and raising their children are understandably feeling stressed as they become caregivers for multiple generations. Caregiving can result in feelings of depression, anxiety, lower levels of self-esteem, constant worry, or feelings of uncertainty This program will focus on self-care for the sandwich generation, with strategies to delegate tasks where possible, improve communication, and help set appropriate limits in a respectful manner.
